Why a quilt?
Since JWCA's founding in 1927, members have marked milestones and participated in Federation initiatives through the Arts Creative Community Service Project (CSP, formerly Department). They created beautiful quilts and other handmade projects together.
During the 2007 -2008 year, local artisan Jennie Greenhalgh was commissioned to create this beautiful quilted banner commemorating the Club's 80th anniversary.

The current membership, inspired by the handiwork of the Junior Clubwomen before us, have chosen to celebrate the 2017 - 2018, 90th anniversary year by creating a quilt together. We will hold traditional "quilting bees" to learn the basics of quilting and hand sewing. It will be fun to slow down, work with our hands and create this exciting project.
